Vancouver Bandits Announce Third Annual BC Basketball Festival

The Vancouver Bandits announced Friday that it is hosting an expanded format of the third annual BC Basketball Festival this summer at Langley Events Centre (LEC) across the weekends of June 13-16 and June 21-23.
Festival festivities will span the two weekends and its broadened scope is a direct response to accommodate the popularity of its boys and girls tournaments, as well as its officials development camp.
A complete overview of the event can be found at this link. The boys tournament will take place Friday, June 14th to Sunday, June 16th, as well as the girls tournament taking place Friday, June 21st to Sunday, June 23rd.
Registration for each tournament (boys and girls) is now live. Tournament games will be played at Langley Events Centre, as well as gymnasiums throughout Langley and Surrey.
Participants in either tournament will have an opportunity to purchase tickets to the Bandits game taking place the weekend of each respective tournament; in particular, on Saturday, June 15 versus the Saskatchewan Rattlers for Basketball Legacy Night and Sunday, June 22nd against the Ottawa BlackJacks for Indigenous Celebration Night.
Further adding to the festivities of the event is the Canada West Officials Development Camp, which welcomes 85 young officials from across western Canada to learn and develop their officiating skills. The camp will be hosted over the weekends of June 13-16 and June 21-23.
Members of the Vancouver Bandits’ coaching staff will play a key role in the BC Basketball Festival. On Saturday, June 22, Bandits coaches in collaboration with representatives from the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC) will lead a free to attend basketball camp for Indigenous youth as part of the club’s ongoing commitment to the Indigenous Basketball Collective.
Roundball will also be supporting the event for the third consecutive year. The BC Men’s Basketball Championship powered by Roundball will take place the first weekend of the BC Basketball Festival and will feature competitive and elite divisions for up to 16 teams. Registration is now live at this link.
“We are thrilled to host the third annual BC Basketball Festival here at Langley Events Centre. Last year’s event was a tremendous showcase of the popularity of the game and all the different ways that we can collaborate with community-minded organizations to promote the sport and to develop young athletes and officials,” Bandits team president Dylan Kular said.
“The event has grown this year to encompass two Bandits game days and an enhanced outdoor festival component. We are grateful for the support of our partners who continue to enrich our fanbase through their connections and inform us of the various new ways that we can contribute to British Columbia’s fervent basketball community.”
Fans will get their first opportunity to watch the Bandits on Thursday, May 23 at 7 p.m. PT when Vancouver opens its season at home when the Montréal Alliance visit Langley Events Centre.
Season tickets as well as flex packs are currently on sale for the Bandits’ sixth CEBL campaign and are available for purchase at this link. Single game tickets are expected to go on sale later this spring.
Vancouver will play a total of 10 regular season home games in 2024 between Thursday, May 23 and Thursday, July 18. The Bandits wrap up regular season action on the road against Montréal on Sunday, July 28 at 1 p.m. PT.
