Vancouver Bandits Partner With Granville Flea to Enhance BC Basketball Festival Experience

LANGLEY, B.C., June 13, 2023 – The Vancouver Bandits have partnered with Granville Flea to enhance the game day atmosphere at the opening weekend of its second annual BC Basketball Festival hosted at Langley Events Centre (LEC) this upcoming Saturday, June 17.
A free-to-attend event hosted by Granville Flea, 17 vendors will be outdoors at LEC in front of Gate 2 to showcase vintage streetwear, iconic fits and must-have items that fans of all ages will want to enjoy and thrift.
“Granville Flea is western Canada’s largest streetwear vintage market. We host events all year round and our goal is always to host a great event that works to bring different cultures, people and vendors together. Basketball and vintage streetwear go hand in hand, so partnering with our local professional basketball team in the Bandits was a perfect fit for bringing our audiences together,” said Cole Brownstone, co-founder of Granville Flea.
Festivities at the flea market start at 12 p.m. and wrap up at 7 p.m. before the Bandits’ game day this Saturday. The event will be hosted in the parking lot directly in front of Gate 2. Parking is free for all who attend and all Granville Flea.

“Bandits Basketball is all about the intersection of community, culture and sport. Parterning with Granville Flea to bring some of the coolest vintage items available to our fanbase is part of our goal of delivering an awesome game day experience that everyone can enjoy well before the action tips off this Saturday,” said Bandits team president Dylan Kular.
The BC Basketball Festival spans over two weekends at LEC. BC Basketball Events is presenting the boys and girls tournaments with the boys tournament taking place Friday, June 16 to Sunday, June 18, as well as the girls tournament taking place Friday, June 23 to Sunday, June 25.
Included in tournament registration is a ticket to the Bandits game taking place the weekend of each respective tournament; in particular, on Saturday, June 17 versus the Saskatchewan Rattlers and Sunday, June 25 against the Calgary Surge.
Further adding to the festivities of the event is the
Canada West Officials Development Camp, which welcomes 65 young officials from across western Canada to learn and develop their officiating skills.
Roundball will also be supporting the event for the second consecutive year. The BC Men’s Basketball Championship powered by Roundball will take place the first weekend of the BC Basketball Festival and will feature competitive and elite divisions.
In other Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) action, the Bandits continue their current road trip tomorrow, June 14 when Vancouver takes on the Calgary Surge at 6 p.m. PT. The game is available to watch on CEBL+ and TSN+.
Following the conclusion of its road trip, Vancouver will return to LEC for Saturday’s tilt versus Saskatchewan.
A key highlight of Vancouver’s fifth CEBL campaign will be its hosting of Championship Weekend, which takes place between Friday, August 11 and Sunday, August 13. An annual celebration of the highest level of Canadian professional basketball,
Championship Weekend features a postseason format that combines three games of playoff basketball as part of a multi-day festival experience designed to celebrate the intersection of arts, culture and sport. As hosts of Championship Weekend, the Bandits receive an automatic semifinal berth.
