Vancouver Bandits, Bandits Community Foundation and Westland Insurance Announce Partnership for the 2025 CEBL Season

The Vancouver Bandits and Bandits Community Foundation are proud to announce Westland Insurance as a co-presenting partner of the team’s 2025 Heritage Series, which includes June 1st’s Indigenous Heritage Game, June 20th’s South Asian Heritage Game, and June 28th’s Filipino Heritage Game—three marquee game nights that celebrate cultural pride, representation, and the power of community through sport.
This partnership is grounded in a shared commitment to inclusivity and creating opportunities for more people to participate in basketball across British Columbia. In addition to co-presenting the Heritage Series, Westland Insurance will also serve as co-presenting partner of the Indigenous Basketball Collective camp, taking place June 1 at Langley Events Centre. The camp historically welcomes up to 75 indigenous youth from across British Columbia for a full day of basketball skills training, mentorship, and cultural connection—culminating in an unforgettable experience at the Bandits game later that evening.
"We're thrilled to partner with the Vancouver Bandits and support their mission to promote inclusivity and cultural pride,” said Cari Watson, Westland's Senior Vice President, Business Enablement & Client Engagement. “This collaboration allows us to engage with diverse communities and empower youth through sport. We believe that basketball can be a powerful tool for cultural celebration and building community.”
As part of its broader support for culturally meaningful basketball experiences, Westland Insurance will also be a supporting sponsor of Bandits Community Foundation’s Sinagtala Basketball Festival, a dynamic celebration of Filipino hoops culture, and the IndoHoops National Tournament, Canada’s largest South Asian basketball tournament. Both events will be held at Langley Events Centre and reflect the Bandits’ and Westland’s shared mission to foster belonging through sport.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Westland Insurance on our Heritage Series and community basketball programs,” said Vancouver Bandits team president Dylan Kular. “Their support allows us to not only celebrate culture through our home games, but also create meaningful programming that brings youth together and empowers them through basketball. Westland Insurance has been an integral partner of Bandits Community Foundation’s Indigenous Basketball Collective and was a founding partner in 2022 when we officially launched the Indigenous Basketball Collective. We are grateful for their support and are excited to continue our strong community partnership.”
