LANGLEY, B.C., May 5, 2022 – The Fraser Valley Bandits announced Thursday that A&W Canada is the “Official Burger of the Fraser Valley Bandits” for the club’s upcoming season at Langley Events Centre (LEC).
A&W Canada has already begun to support British Columbia’s professional basketball team, as well as grassroots basketball in the Lower Mainland in a variety of ways. Through its sponsorship of the Bandits, A&W Canada presented the player of the game awards that were given to boys and girls student-athletes at the
B.C. High School Basketball Championships that were hosted at LEC as well as various Gr. 8 and 9 provincial tournaments across the province last March.
Further adding to its support of all levels of the game, A&W Canada is sponsoring numerous game day elements that will be on full display for Bandits fans to enjoy, both in venue during the
Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season, as well as on the Bandits’ social media pages (@fvbandits). A notable fan experience is A&W Canada’s presentation of the Bandits’ “Buckets With Berry” promotion, which invites youth to take a free throw on Fraser Valley’s home court prior to tip-off.
“It is a pleasure to launch our sponsorship of the Fraser Valley Bandits. The club has shown that it is invested in the community and we are proud to support the growth of basketball in our province, as well as a game day experience that is designed to be accessible, exciting and inclusive for fans and families,” said Tom Newitt, vice president of marketing for A&W Canada.
The Bandits will make their debut at LEC against the Saskatchewan Rattlers on Saturday, June 4 at 2 p.m. PT. Fans can now purchase single game tickets for the 20-game regular season by visiting https://www.thebandits.ca/tickets.
The 2022 campaign will be Fraser Valley’s fourth CEBL season and its first at LEC after announcing its relocation from Abbotsford in September 2021. The Bandits wrapped up the club’s third season by hosting four consecutive sell-outs at Abbotsford Centre over the course of Fraser Valley’s final three regular season and quarterfinal playoff games last summer.
Fraser Valley opens its season on the road on Wednesday, May 25 at 4:30 p.m. PT against the Ottawa BlackJacks.
“It is an honour to welcome such a prestigious and national brand to the Bandits family. I would like to thank A&W Canada and its team for supporting basketball in the Fraser Valley and enriching our game day experience and community presence through a multi-faceted sponsorship that we are excited to introduce to our fans and basketball players from across the province,” said Bandits president Dylan Kular.
Full and partial season ticket packages, as well as group and single game tickets are available for purchase at thebandits.ca/tickets. Fans are kindly asked to call (604) 866-0529 or email tickets@thebandits.ca for any questions or ticket related inquiries.
