Team President Lee Genier, Bandits players, Senior Dance Team members and Berry the Bandit to be on hand to unveil Bandits’ home and away New Era Cap jerseys in advance of team’s May 9 home opener at Abbotsford Centre
ABBOTSFORD, April 5, 2019 –
The Fraser Valley Bandits are set to reveal their jerseys for the 2019 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Abbotsford Tradex, which will be hosting the 23rd annual BC Classic and Custom Car Show.
Recent draft selections from the Bandits will be on hand to showcase the jerseys and will be joined by Bandits Team President and CEBL President of Western Operations, Lee Genier, as well as members from the Bandits’ Senior Dance Team and Berry the Bandit, the team’s upstart mascot.
The grand unveiling will commence at 2 p.m. on the main stage of exhibit hall “B” north. Fans, media and members of the public are kindly invited to attend to witness history in the making as this will be the first time that a CEBL team jersey is revealed to the public.
“I’m excited to introduce exactly what our players will wear when they take the court to represent the Fraser Valley, not only on our home court at Abbotsford Centre, but across the country in the CEBL’s five other inaugural cities, and internationally on CEBL.tv as well,” said Bandits President Lee Genier. “These jerseys are emblematic of the geography and culture that defines the Fraser Valley, and have been crafted by New Era Cap to illustrate the beauty of the Valley and to reflect the toughness and competitiveness that the Fraser Valley Bandits will play with each and every night.”
Attendees will have an opportunity to meet players, team management and other representatives of the Bandits, while also having a chance to tour and enjoy exhibits featuring more than 250 vehicles on display from a variety of decades and styles, as well as live entertainment and the show’s beer garden and concession areas.
Bandits jerseys will be available for purchase at Abbotsford Centre on Bandits game days, and through the team’s online store. Season tickets for the Bandits and the return of professional basketball to BC are on sale now, with single game tickets set to go on sale next week.
The Bandits open their inaugural season on Thursday, May 9, at Abbotsford Centre against the Guelph Nighthawks. Over the course of a 20-game regular season from May 9 to August 15, the Bandits will play against teams in Edmonton, Saskatchewan (Saskatoon), Guelph, Hamilton and Niagara (St. Catharines), culminating with a league championship playoff at a site to be announced.
