Fraser Valley Bandits Sign Clint Robinson
Former member of the University of Illinois at Chicago Flames has emerged as a defensive force and an elite shot blocker at the professional level and will make his debut for the Bandits Friday night in Edmonton.
ABBOTSFORD, BC, June 7, 2019 –
The Fraser Valley Bandits announced Friday the signing of Clint Robinson, a native of Montego Bay, Jamaica. Robinson will make his Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) debut for Fraser Valley tonight when the Bandits take on the Edmonton Stingers at Edmonton EXPO Centre.
Robinson, a six-foot-eight forward, recently completed his 2018-19 season with Clube de Povo de Esgueira of the Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB)s. Robinson led Esgueira in games played (32), rebounds per game, (10.9) blocks per game (1.6), in addition to averaging 11.5 points per game on 53.4% shooting from field goal range.
Robinson’s collegiate career began at State Fair Community College (SFCC) where he emerged as a two-way presence that impacted the game through his offensive and defensive rebounding prowess. Robinson started all 29 games for SFCC as a sophomore and led the team in blocks with 2.2 per game. Robinson would then transfer to the University of Illinois at Chicago where he became a key cog in the Flames’ rotation for two seasons (2016-2018) of NCAA Division I basketball, averaging 4.8 points per game, 4.6 rebounds and 1 block over his two years with the Flames.
Robinson will debut for the Bandits tonight in Edmonton, Alta. The Bandits take on the Edmonton Stingers at 6 p.m. PT. The game can be streamed live and for free on CEBL TV.
