More than 25 years after his first basketball broadcast, Fai joins the Fraser Valley Bandits as a play-by-play announcer for the upcoming 2021 season. An award-winning broadcast veteran, Fai comes to the Bandits with more than 20 seasons of play-by-play experience.
Fai began his career calling games for the British Columbia Collegiate Basketball Association, Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. From there, he joined TSN 1040 Radio, where he hosted the daily sports talk show Rob Fai Nation.
Fai also spent 14 seasons as a play-by-play announcer for the Vancouver Canadians, a minor-league affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. In his time with the club, he broadcast more than 1,000 games over radio and television. For his service to the team and to the game of baseball, he received the Baseball BC Meritorious Award in 2014 and was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 2015.
Outside of the broadcast booth, Fai has worked with the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Foundation to provide over 3,500 children with funding to play baseball. He has also worked with Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC to create a scholarship program for local teens.
Fai currently hosts the daily podcast SportsBar Radio and Vancouver Canucks post-game show The Nation. His voice has also been featured in the NHL video game series since 2011. He lives in Port Coquitlam with his wife Christina and children Nolan and Jayda.

Moving from the court to the booth, Brempong joins the Fraser Valley Bandits as an analyst for the upcoming 2021 season. A former Bandit, Brempong brings more than 20 years of high-level basketball experience to the broadcast crew.
A native of Thornhill, Ont., Brempong attended Western Carolina University on a basketball scholarship from 2000 to 2005. After graduation, he played professionally in Germany and Holland for six years. In that time, he was named the Dutch Basketball League’s Defensive Player of the Year (2006-07), led the league in blocks and rebounds (2007), and made two all-star teams (2007 and 2009). He finished his playing career as a member of the Fraser Valley Bandits in 2019.
Brempong also has a distinguished history with Canada’s national team. From 2000 to 2008, he represented Canada in numerous international competitions and competed against NBA stars such as Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Dirk Nowitzki.
Since retiring from play, Brempong has worked as a basketball consultant, training players at all levels across British Columbia. He is also a spoken-word poet, and uses his platform to speak out on issues of racism and inequality. He lives in Deep Cove with his wife Felicity and kids Quentin, Kya and Moses.

Sports media veteran Shantelle Chand joins the Fraser Valley Bandits as a sideline reporter for the upcoming 2021 season. A native of Vancouver, Chand’s local roots, broadcasting experience and love for the game of basketball make her a terrific asset to the Bandits broadcast crew.
Chand began her broadcasting career as a traffic anchor on AM730. In her five years with the station, she also covered the BC Lions, Vancouver Whitecaps and NCAA March Madness Tournament for sister station 980 CKNW.
Chand made her national television debut on NBA TV Canada’s The Hangout during the 2014 NBA Finals. In 2017, she worked as a field reporter for the Vancouver Canadians, a minor league affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.
From there, Chand joined TSN 1040 as a host and producer and flourished as a sports media personality at the station. As host and creator of The Home Stretch, Chand became the first-ever woman to host her own sports radio talk show on the platform. She has also worked as a sideline reporter for the National Lacrosse League’s Vancouver Warriors since 2018.
