Bandits Sign NBA-Experienced Guard MJ Walker

The Vancouver Bandits announced Tuesday that the club has signed six-foot-five guard M.J. Walker for the 2023 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season at Langley Events Centre (LEC).
Hailing from Riverdale, GA, USA, Walker recently completed his second NBA G League season suiting up in 14 games for the New York Knicks’ affiliate, the Westchester Knicks. The sharpshooter averaged 29.9 minutes, 13.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game on 37.3 per cent shooting from field goal range.
During the 2021-22 season, Walker was signed by the Phoenix Suns to a 10-day hardship contract and appeared in two games on December 31, 2021 and January 2, 2022.
Walker played four seasons of NCAA Division I basketball at Florida State University from 2017-21 where he averaged 9.0 points and 2.0 rebounds on 38.0 er cent field goal shooting in 120 collegiate games played. In 2020, Walker and the Seminoles captured an ACC Regular Season Championship. In his senior year, Walker was named the All-ACC 2nd Team.
Walker and the Bandits take the court for the club’s second-annual School Day Game hosting the Winnipeg Sea Bears at Langley Events Centre this morning at 11 AM PT.
