3 KEYS TO THE GAME - JUNE 21 VS. GUELPH
Fraser Valley looks to build on its two-game winning streak in a battle for second place vs. Guelph. Here are my 3 Keys to the Game tonight against the Nighthawks.

The Cat Came Back
Beating one of the best teams in the CEBL will come down to whether the Bandits can contain the scoring duo of Cat Barber and Ahmed Hill. Combined, the two are averaging over thirty eight points per game, and have led the Nighthawks to third in the league standings. I think the Bandits will look to possibly trap Barber early off of pick and rolls to get the ball out of his hands, not allowing him to establish an early rhythm. Ahmed Hill, one of the league's most lethal outside shooters, could draw Alex Campbell’s sticky physical defence for the start and use Malcolm Duvivier to stymy him. Whatever the Bandits choose to do, they undoubtedly will look to take the potent guards out of their comfort zone and force the rest of the Nighthawks to step up.
Inside Man
The Bandits have started U SPORTS and Windsor Lancers all-star, Thomas Kennedy, at the five spot all year. He has made the most of it, nearly averaging a double double, showing tremendous athleticism on pick and rolls and on offensive rebounds. Kennedy has given teams without a true pivot fits this season and the Nighthawks will most likely look to start former SFU star Julian Roche on the big man. Undersized for the position in the CEBL, Roche will have his hands full, along with the rest of the Nighthawks as the Bandits will look to attack inside and out on Tuesday night.
The Cardiac Kids
Elam time has been where the Bandits have thrived this season. They have out-executed teams offensively and have cranked up their defensive pressure when it matters most. The trend will likely continue as the team's general manager Kyle Julius loves to grind out tough wins and has composed a team made up of his DNA for winning basketball. In Elam time especially, the Bandits very rarely allow teams to score via easy baskets. No free throws and or layups seems to be the focus in the clutch, as the team uses multiple efforts to force teams to shoot contested outside shots. The Bandits will have to focus early and often and not leave winning plays to Elam time to avoid another nail biter Tuesday night.
